GLIOMA:検査入院 その6（結果）

検査入院の結果、
・神経膠腫グリオーマでびまん性星細胞腫のグレード2の疑い。
・悪性転化の可能性もあり、無症状でも取ってしまったほうが良い。
・言語中枢に近いので覚醒下手術でやる。

PETの結果で腫瘍細胞が分裂するときに使うアミノ酸の一種のメチオニンが想定していたより集積していなかったので、他の病気の疑いも考えられた。手術へ踏み込む決め手として、しばらく経過観察をして腫瘍が大きくなることを確認する手もあった。が、大きくなると余計なところを巻き込んだりしていいことは何も無いので、できるだけ早く取ってもらうことにしてもらった。

そして手術へ。

びまん性星細胞腫グレード2を患ってます。 主観的辛痛度:★★★☆☆（取ってくれと言ったが手術はとても怖い。）

The result of the hospitalized examination is that,
* The brain tumor is suspected of the grade 2 of diffuse astrocytoma of glioma.
* The tumor should be removed if there is no symptom because of a malignant transformation.
* The surgery will be operated in an awake surgery because the tumor is near the speech center.

It is suspected that the tumor is other diseases because collection of methionine which is a kind of amino acid for cell devision is not more than the doctor expected. There is a way to observe the progress of the tumor to decide whether the surgery is carried out. But increasing the size of the tumor will make matters worse to wrap in other parts of the brain. I asked my doctor to take out the tumor as soon as possible.
